Personal Development Programs -
Finding the Best in You:

Ken Betterton believes that in order to effectively lead an organization, you need to be in touch with who you are, your personal strengths, your internal motivation and your external goals. Ken's personal development programs offer participants tools and techniques that will take them through a self discovery process that results in:

  • Self-awareness
  • Self-understanding
  • Reinvention
  • Self-actualization

If you are confused about your own purpose and values or unclear about the issues that get in the way of your maximum effectiveness, you cannot provide the leadership and vision needed to build a result-driven team. Ken has developed a set of 10 factors, which he calls the Power Tools that are the key variables in defining personal success. The Power Tools find their way into most of his personal development presentations because they are the necessary ingredients to personal effectiveness and provide the foundation for good leadership.

These programs are designed for the improvement of interaction between people and to help individuals fully understand the impact they have in the workplace. They provide tools to achieve immediate results and enhance the opportunity for ongoing personal and team development. Ken's personal development programs include the following topics:

  • Finding your passion and your purpose
  • Overcoming fear and adversity
  • Understanding emotional intelligence
  • Taking responsibility for your actions and the consequences thereof
  • Understanding others who may have different preferences, expectations, desires, and motivations

"I encourage individuals to identify their strengths." -Ken Betterton

Organizational Development Programs -
Helping Others Find the Best in Them:

Ken also offers programs that will give you the skills and perspectives you need to bring out the best in your co-workers and direct reports. One of Ken's Power Tools is learning to find joy in the development of others. These presentations are focused on specific skills, such as influencing, coaching and mentoring, or on foundational perspectives that are the keys to leadership success, such as understanding the relationship between people's needs and their motivation. Whether you are seeking to understand the psychological preferences and personality style types of the people on your team or learning to communicate with them more effectively, these programs will give you the perspectives and insights that will enable you to accomplish the objectives you have set for your organization.

You, the Inspired Motivator

The vital functions of a leader are vast and numerous, though, none are more important than the ability to motivate others. During his program, Ken pushes individuals to discover their purpose. For many, this may seem like a simple task, however, motivation is not an easy ability to learn. According to Ken, this has a lot to do with the fact that motivation and fear go hand in hand. Ego often gets involved, and gets in the way of progress because of the all-to-common "fear of failure." Ken explains, "100 % of people experience fear, and 90% of this fear is fancied, meaning self-imposed fear." He believes that the reflective self is only as good as the thoughts within each individual. In Ken's words, "what you think about is what you become." He believes that positive, hopeful thoughts equal a successful future because you begin to "live positively."

During this four-hour workshop participants will learn:

  • To understand and define motivation
  • The guidance necessary to enter a deeper understanding of self
  • Encouragement to look at your personal strengths, goals, and vision
  • The eight-step model to motivate others
  • The joy and satisfaction of developing others

This course is an absolute must for people in leadership and new to leadership.
